Berkeley....Portland. Same thing.
I'm hoping to head up to Berkeley for college so I'll pass on the Portland thing.

There are alot of good bands that either came out of that scene like The Charlatans, Ocean Colour Scene, and bands that owe alot to it like Blur and Oasis. If you're not into British rock, thats fine, just offer something constructive instead of a lame "this (insert what sucks) sucks."

I actually like Joy Division and the Smiths better than any of the bands that I mentioned, as well as New Order's early stuff. Is Moz's new one out yet? Is it any good?
By the way, that still isn't actually criticism, it's just saying they suck a different way.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Joy Division was an amazing band. It's sad to see them lumped as "Goth" anymore because they were so much more. I really dug New Order's first single when it came out but felt used when I bought the second 45. Too Disco/Commercial for me. I don't know if Moz's new one is out. Christ, the last stuff I've heard is when he was w/ the Rockabilly lineup. He seemed to fade after that.Originally posted by sinner:

Yeah I really hate that they get lumped in as a Goth band. They were one of the most innovative and introspective bands I've ever heard.
Moz new stuff comes out on the 18th of this month. I went to his show in Vegas and his new stuff sounds good. I felt his last few solo records sucked the dick just as much as his boyfriend does but I think this new record will be really good. I have never seen fans more rabid for anybody than Morrissey fans. I went to the hardrock at 8am and they are lined up writing him letters and shit.
